<From The Wall, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 >
Courtney, hurled Lover Enshrined by J. R. Ward against The Wall.
The reasons were:
This one was really disappointing because I have loved all of the other Brotherhood books. However there were very few scenes between the heroine and the hero compared to how much air time all the other characters got. It was like she is trying to do what Kenyon did and create new characters who will eventually have their own books. There was absolutely no romance in this book at all and I had to force myself to finish it. Another thing that bothered me was that some of the other future Brothers are GAY! I have no problem with homosexuality but at the same time I DO NOT want to read through a guy on guy love scene!! Ms. Ward stick to the romance!!

I totally agree! Personally I didn't feel like the main characters even spent enough time together to fall in love!

reader added:
Way too much crap tossed in. Stupid.

Courtney added:
For me these two characters didn't even have a courtship like the characters in the previous books. They didn't even spend any time together so how can they possibly be in love when they don't know anything about the each other?!! I love the previous books I think Rhage and Mary's love story was the best because you could genuinly see them falling in love!

Karen added:
Lover Enshrined isn't doing it for me. All that "red smoke" smoking? Is that supposed to be sexy? I don't trust Phury because he's an addict. And I don't find the vibe between him and Cormia sexually compelling at all. And the other characters are too distracting. I'm waiting for Revhenge's book. And I want to see what happens between Xhex and John Quinn. I'm still reading this, putting it down and picking it up. The others I just blazed through. Regarding the gay thing, there was definitely a vibe in previous books, but it doesn't bother me; I certainly wouldn't mond seeing a little m/m action, but I wouldn't be interested in them as main characters.

Susan added:
For all that don't like BDB books anymore, I think JR Ward has gotten to where she wanted to be when she started this series. I feel now that we are into it a few more books, that the first several were the intro and romance hook to get readers involved in the WORLD. It's clear A LOT of readers feel too much has changed and are very unhappy with the last two books. Her best sexual tension and emotional scenes (they were awesome) were between Butch and V, and that guy on guy tension appears to be a theme that will carry through with the younger set as the books progress. In this world everything just gets weirder and weirder.

i liked this book a lot and feel it adds to the whole story. Great world she has created here and I look forward to more.

Heather added:
I have to agree with Courtney and Phury was not a hero in any sense of the word. He should have taken more heroin and saved me the time of reading the stupid book.

anonomys added:
This book sucked! I've had it with this series and this author. This was not a romance book, it was a series filler because the author had nothing better to do -guess her board's too boring for her.
They can all get killed off by Lessers for all I care.

Sarah added:
I disagree, I enjoyed the scenes with the other characters just as much as the sence between Phury and Cormia. And while I don't necessarily enjoy guy on guy stuff it still adds to the romance. I really want Blay to find a nice guy.
